In the past 3-5 years, Intuit has been greatly upgrading and refining their Quickbooks Online platform. As a platform primarily designed for small and medium-sized businesses, it creates a very accurate and intuitive (no pun intended) platform for businesses to manage their accounting.

Quickbooks works for a wide variety of functions. It can manage your accounts payable (AP), your accounts receivable (AR) and also your payroll, just to name a few basic things.

Even though the platform is continually getting upgraded, there are always users that are looking to squeeze more out of the platform and make the use of the platform easier. There are many tips and tricks for using QuickBooks that can make your life a bit easier, so today we wanted to share with you our three favorite Quickbooks Online tricks.

Use Google Chrome

The truth is, whether you use a Mac or you use a PC computer, QuickBooks Online runs much more effectively if you use Google Chrome as your primary browser.

Quickbooks Online is, of course, compatible with other browsers such as FireFox, Safari, etc., but the response and load time in the Chrome browser is significantly faster.

It may not seem like it, but if you spend a lot of time in the Quickbooks Application and you add up a few seconds here and a few seconds there, at the end of the day, you are talking about a pretty large amount of time.

Pro Tip: You may also want to consider installing the QuickBooks Online desktop app. This app is free to install and is claimed to increase speed by an impressive 46%.

Setup Automated Emails

The automation features in Quickbooks online are much more prevalent in QuickBooks Online, compared to prior versions of QuickBooks.

In the past, if you had lots of tasks, with fewer automation features, this means you are spending more time doing things manually. Quickbooks Online is highly automated and can save you a great amount of time.

For instance, if you have many different communications that you send, day in and day out, automate them. You can set up things to be sent out automatically including invoices, sales reports, various financial statements, and more.

Another great feature is you can choose when these are sent out. You can choose to have them sent out daily, weekly, monthly, etc.

Manage Employee Timesheets

One of the greatest features of QuickBooks Online is the “TSheets” integration feature.

From a single window, you can quickly review and approve multiple employee timesheets in a single activity and also mark/update any incorrect timesheets as needed.

If your business needs to view a large number of timesheets on a bi-weekly basis, it is very helpful to have access to all of this information in a single location.
